Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY)
The SGSY scheme aims to establish micro enterprises in rural areas, focusing on Below Poverty Line (BPL) households identified through the BPL census and approved by Gram Sabha.
The objective is to bring assisted poor families above the poverty line by ensuring sustained income over time.
This is achieved by:
Organizing rural poor into Self Help Groups (SHGs) through social mobilisation, training, and capacity building.
The ultimate goal is to ensure appreciable and sustained income for the assisted poor families, known as Swarozgaris, over a period of time.
