The scheme consists of three tiers of committees:
Block Level Bankers’ Committee (BLBC): Focuses on block-level issues and implementation of the scheme.
District Consultative Committee (DCC): Comprises representatives from banks, government, and other stakeholders to discuss district-level issues and review progress.
State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC): Oversees the implementation of the scheme at the state level and addresses state-level issues.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
DCC meetings are held quarterly, with a focus on reviewing progress, addressing grievances, and discussing district-level issues.
SLBC meetings are held annually, with a focus on reviewing the implementation of the scheme, discussing state-level issues, and addressing banking penetration.
LDMs (Lead District Managers) play a crucial role in coordinating the activities of the DCC and DLRC.
The scheme also includes capacity building, training, and sensitization programs for stakeholders.
Implementation of Lead Bank Scheme
The scheme is implemented through the preparation of credit plans and Potential Linked Credit Plans (PLPs).
The scheme aims to promote financial inclusion, economic development, and banking penetration.
